Virginia Scruggs Dalton, 78, widow of Larry Dalton passed away Monday, September 27, 2021 at her home.

Born April 15, 1943 in Green Creek, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Jim Scruggs and Frances Pritchard Scruggs. She was a retired Substitute Teacher and a member of Graham Chapel Wesleyan Church. She was always happy and had a smile on her face which her friends and family always talked about. She was a caretaker of her late husband during his battle with MS. and loved children especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who called her “Ganmom” whom she loved and adored.

Surviving are daughters, April Dalton Long (Brian) of Keller TX., Cindy Dalton Bridges (Samuel Acosta) of Chesnee; sister, Carole Jones of Chesnee; brother, Paul Scruggs (Mary) of Green Creek NC.; grandchildren, Maci Bridges Foster (Brandon), John Dalton Long, Shayde Bridges (Daniela), Coleton Bridges; great-grandchildren, Dalton Raye Foster, Huxleigh Alan Foster; Asher Spayde Bridges; brother-in law, Michael Bush of Greer; Special Caretaker, Debbie Beland; lifelong friend and neighbor, Sara Lee and her four legged best friend who never left her side, Lola.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son Eric Dalton.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Graham Chapel Wesleyan Church with Rev. Preston Edmonds and Rev. Amanda R. Holmes officiating.
