Virginia Annette Bishop, 85, widow of Leonard Hugh Bishop, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Born August 7, 1938 in Green Creek, NC., she was a daughter of the late Herbert Cudd and Mabel Jones Cudd. She was formerly employed with Mettler Toledo and later with Wal-Mart and was a member of Sandy Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughters; Luann Ball (Jim) of Green Creek, NC, Donna Bearden (Randy) of Pauline, SC.; sister, Lou Ellen Hines of Gastonia, NC.; and a granddaughter, Hollyann Bearden of Pauline.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Sara Janice Gilbert (Smiley), a brother, Jerry Cudd (Sybil) and a brother-in-law, Ralph Hines.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4251 Chesnee Rd, Rutherfordton, NC 28139 with Rev. Terrell Dillingham officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the gravesite.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Norma Thompson for all her love and care to Mrs. Bishop throughout the years.
