Tim Burrows
Chesnee, SC.
Timothy “Tim” Michael Burrows, 47, loving husband of Tammie Gillespie Burrows, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, November 7, 2024 at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC after a long hard fought battle after his liver transplant due to spinal cord injuries that occurred during surgery.
Born August 8, 1977 in Florence, he was the son of Rev. Raymond D. Burrows (Ann) of Taylors and the late Victoria Fitch Burrows. Tim was a former Consultant with Bryan T. Smith Law Firm, Video Production Editor for Vogel Production, spent many years working in printing for Southeastern Printing and Greenville Office Supply and attended Faith Temple.
He was an avid southern gospel music fan having sang with his family’s group Faithful For and also the Redeemers of Faith Quartet. Tim had many opportunities to learn about music's importance to every service. He learned a lot about the ministry from his parents. Tim's dad has been a pastor for over 30 years. Living in a pastor’s home, he learned that ministry is more than just standing in a pulpit preaching that often God uses music to minister and reach people that preaching wouldn’t.
Tim had a kind and helpful spirit he would help anyone, anyway he could. He was a big supporter of the Chesnee High School Orchestra serving in many roles from sound, lighting, set designs and chaperoning. He also enjoyed spending time with family watching movies, Carolina Gamecock Football and Women’s Basketball. He loved late night chats with Ashley and Brandon once they got off work and most importantly going out to eat with his family at his favorite restaurant California Dreaming.
Surviving in addition to his wife and father is his daughter, Ashley Burrows (Orchestra Teacher at Boiling Springs Middle School) of Chesnee and son, Brandon Burrows (Firefighter at Pelham-Batesville Fire Dept. and a volunteer at Cherokee Creek Fire Dept.) of Chesnee, his best friend, Joe Trusty of Berea and his grand dog “Layla Belle Burrows”. Also surviving his mother-in-law, Bonnie Gillespie, sister-in-law, Sonia Gillespie Smith (Shannon); many aunts, uncles and cousins on this mother and fathers’ side of the family.
The family will receive friends beginning at 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Faith Temple, 5080 Sandy Flat Rd. Taylors, SC 29687. A Celebration of Life will follow at the church with Rev. Joey Mills officiating and many Southern Gospel Group friends of Tim participating. A private burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2024 in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ashley, Brandon and the Cherokee Creek Fire Dept.
Flowers and plants will be accepted and the family ask they be “Gamecock” colors (Burgundy, Greens, Whites and Reds).
A memorial fundraiser to help cover medical and funeral cost with a hotdog lunch and a silent auction will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Chesnee High School Gymnasium, sponsored by Chesnee High School and Boiling Springs Middle School. Donations for the Silent Auction maybe dropped off at Chesnee High School through Friday November 15, 2024.
Family members will be at the home of his father, 320 Glassy Road, Landrum, SC.
