Samentha R. Henderson, a cherished member of her community and beloved family matriarch, passed away on November 21, 2024 at the Reginal Hospice Home in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Born on May 15, 1936, in Belmont, North Carolina, Samentha lived a life marked by dedication and resilience, both in her career and in her relationships.
Her professional journey began as a Machine Operator, where she made significant contributions during her tenure with Crown Cork and Seal and later with KMart. Samentha's work ethic and commitment to her craft earned her the respect and admiration of her peers, and she took great pride in the skills she honed over many years in the manufacturing industry.
Samentha was not only known for her career but also for her unwavering love for her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Clayton E. Henderson, who stood by her side through all of life's joys and challenges. Together, they raised a caring family, including their son, Alan Lee Curtis. Her legacy further extends to her grandchildren, especially her beloved granddaughter, Christian Vasaturo (Reno) and her great-grandson, Marcucio Francis Vasaturo, who brought immense joy to her life.
Samentha's family connections ran deep, including her brother, Austin Buck Rodden, and her sister-in-law, Susan Greenway, who were important parts of her life.
She is predeceased by her parents, Austin Howard Rodden and Myrtle Goodsen Rodden, and her son, Gary Clayton Henderson, whose memories continue to resonate with those who knew and loved them.
In honoring Samentha's remarkable life, a visitation will be held on November 24, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM, followed by a memorial service at Harris - Nadeau Mortuary in Chesnee, South Carolina, at 3:00 PM. with Rev. Larry Fleming officiating
Samentha R. Henderson's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family values that will continue to inspire and guide her loved ones.
