Richard Guthrie Sibbett, 86, widower of Eunice Laura Blackwell Sibbett, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022 at Eden Terrace.

Born September 2, 1935 in Columbus, NC.; he was a son of the late Stephen Guthrie Sibbett and Isbelle Ward Sibbett. He was retired from the United States Army and a member of Bible Belt Baptist Church.

Surviving is his son, Tony Sibbett of Gaffney; daughters, Angel Austin of Taylors, Peggy Fowler of Gaffney; sister, Pat Wright of North Carolina; grandchildren, Caleb Sibbett, Heather Scruggs, Timothy Cash, Samuel Sibbett, Addison Tucker, Faith Tucker, James Mahaffey, Josh Mahaffey, Matthew Mahaffey; great-grandchildren, Riggs Cash, Iverleigh Scruggs, Zachary Mahaffey and Kellin Childers.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Bible Belt Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Charles Hyatt, Rev. Chuck Hyatt and Mr. Tony Sibbett officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
