He was born on February 6, 1937, in Pulaski, New York, to the late Elery and Minnie Gregory Jennings. In his professional life, he was an automotive mechanic.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Constance of Chesnee, Son and daughter-in-law; Richard and Betty Jennings of Chesnee, son; Kevin Jennings of Owego, New York, two sisters; Millie and Ann and 3 grandchildren.
