Reidus Dewey Pruett, 81, passed away, Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Holy Springs Senior Citizens Home in Rutherfordton, NC.

Born January 7, 1942 in Catawba County, NC., he was a son of the late Grady Lee Pruett and Emma Alice Berryhill Pruett. He was retired as a Repairman with PPG Industries, loved hunting and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving is his daughter, Tammy Lynn Griffin of Shelby, NC; son, Tony Christopher Pruett (Kim) of Chesnee; sisters, Kay Page of Shelby, Nancy Gillam of Grover, Joyce Brooks of Earl, Rita Strange of Shelby, Jeanette Pruett of Rutherfordton; brothers, Donald Pruett of Shelby, Steve Pruett of Rutherfordton, Grady Pruett of Forest City, Richard Pruett of Rutherfordton, Brian Pruett of Forest City, David Pruett of Charlotte; 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Wayne Pruett, John Lee Pruett and James T. Pruett.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary.

No other formal services will be held.
