Raymond Elijah Smith, 87, husband of Frances Hamrick Smith, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at his home.

Born November 4, 1935 in Union, SC., he was a son of the late Furman G. Smith and Myrtle Turner Smith. He was a member of Central Church of Christ in Spartanburg and a retired construction worker.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughters, Ann Price of Campobello, Julia Sands of Port Orchid Washington, Patty Crocker of Landrum; one son; brother, Rickie Smith of Spartanburg; step-children, Angela Burrell of Inman, Scott Tapp of Inman, Tina Thompson of Inman; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Moore; brothers, Harold, Jerry, Ray and J.D. Smith and a sister, Betty Jean Smith.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2023 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary with Mr. Ernie Thigpen and Mr. Tom Hokanson officiating.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to the Agape Hospice group for all their love and care to Mr. Smith.
