Ray Fowler

Monnie “Ray” Fowler, 78, loving husband of 56 years to Mildred Ann Greene Fowler of Woodgate Road, died Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Born November 26, 1938 in Clifton, he was a son of the late Donald Sylvester Fowler and Ruby Mae Johnson Fowler. He was a retired truck driver with Pet Dairy, was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans where he was the Chaplain of the Jack E. Daniels Group in Cherokee County, was also a lifetime member the Free & Accepted Masons and proudly served our country in the United States Air Force.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Dennis Fowler of Murrells Inlet; daughter, Janice Fowler Coburn and husband David of Rural Hall, NC; brother, Ellis Dexter Fowler and wife Jean of Greer; sister, Blanche Gilbert of Cowpens; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at Macedonia Baptist Church. A celebration of life service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Terry Duvall and Rev. David Coburn officiating.
The family will be at the Gilbert Residence, 150 Marion Street, Cowpens, SC.
