Norma Jean Pegg, 73 years, widow of Gene Pegg (2007), passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Spartanburg Medical Center, Mary Black Campus after an illness. She was born on August 23, 1948, in Haywood County, North Carolina, to the late John Clinton Rider and Hester Wood Rider. In her professional years, she worked with Spartanburg County Emergency Medical Services as an EMT. She was a member of Orchard Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law; Ricky and Sandra Frady of Missoula, Montana, daughters; Melody Thomas of Kodak, Tennessee and Geina Pegg of Mayo, SC,, brother; Bunt Rider of Jonesville, twin sisters; Irene Ennis and Kathleen Carver both of Waynesville, North Carolina, sister and brother-in-law Renee and Mark Corwin of Mayo, 9 beloved grandchildren; Brittney Thomas of Chesnee, SC, Brandon Thomas of Mayo, SC, Crystal Thomas of Chesnee, SC, Jessica Phillips of Kodak, TN, Shala Thomas of Chesnee, Kaylie Pegg of Mayo, SC, Clint Leach of Grainger, TN, and 22 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Brady Rider.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 15, 2021, 11:00-11:45 AM, in the chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 Noon. Burial will take place that same afternoon at Mt. Sheba Baptist Church, 870 New Stock Road, Weaverville, NC, 28787, 1-828-645-5806.
