Nancy Kelly Harris

Nancy K. Harris Chesnee, SC. Nancy Kelly Harris, 94, widow of Clellan John “C.J.” Harris, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018. Born June 8, 1924 in Williamston, she was a daughter of the late Truman William Kelly and Gertrude Geddens Kelly. She was homemaker and bookkeeper at times with the former C.J. Harris Furniture and was a member of Chesnee First Baptist Church for 70 years where she taught Sunday School, led the GA’s and Vacation Bible School. Nancy loved and enjoyed a good glass of wine and always had her bags packed to travel the world and never met a stranger. Nancy was an avid reader and gifted seamstress, but most importantly she had a heart of compassion for the need of others, and was always willing to help anyone. Surviving is her daughter, Laura Michelle Hall of Spartanburg; sons, Kelly Harris and wife Lamonda of Chesnee, Dennis Harris of Chesnee, Brett Harris and wife Christa of Charlotte; grandchildren, John Harris (Jeanna), Garner Guynn, Maria Lawrence (Tim), Jessica Rowland (Jay), Kelly Angle; great-grandchildren, Abby, Shelby, and Miley Harris, Taylor and Cooper Trent, Caydenn Rowland, Dakota and Austin Lawrence. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a daughter, Betsy Harris Angle. A Memorial Service will be 3:30 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2018 at Chesnee First Baptist Church with Dr. Gary J. Grogan officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:15 p.m. Monday, prior to the service at the church. Family members are at their respective homes.
