Mary Garland

Mary E. Garland Chesnee, SC. Mary Elizabeth Garland, 94, widow of Bert Garland, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born July 26, 1923 in Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late Luther and Amelia Hawkins. She was a retired textiles worker and a member of Chesnee First Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Ridge Garland and wife Jewel of Chesnee, Mike Garland and wife Deborah of Inman, Chris Garland and wife Rhonda of Spartanburg, Barbara Pearson and husband Kenneth of Spartanburg; brother, Junior Hawkins and wife Montez of Seneca; 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Chesnee First Baptist Church with Dr. Gary Grogan, Rev. Frank Walker and Rev. Steven May officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service at the church.
