Luther Hinton Wood, 92, husband of Phyllis Blain Wood, went home to be with the Lord, Friday November 3, 2023 at his home.

Born January 31, 1931 in Gainesville, Georgia, he was a son of the late Jesse Wood and Eunice Ward Wood. He was a retired Welder with Norfolk Southern Railroad, served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Orchard Street Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Gail Kirby of Spartanburg, Doug Wood (Linda) of Chesnee, Guy Wood (Penny) of Chesnee, Mark Wood (Lori) of Boiling Springs; step-daughter, Debbie Seay (Chris) of Chesnee; brother, Gene Wood of Toccoa, GA; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Pauline Jane Wood; sisters, Doris Bray, Effie Smith and a son-in-law, Olin E. Kriby

Graveside services with military honors will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2023 at Fort Prince Memorial Gardens in Wellford with Rev. Roland Dry and Rev. Mike Davis officiating.
