Larry Edward Gossett, 67, widower of Rhonda Hutchins Gossett passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at Cherokee Medical Center.
Born March 19, 1953 in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late James Oliver Gossett and Mamie Revels Gossett. He was retired from Hoechst Celanese, an avid South Carolina Gamecocks and Chesnee High School Eagles fan and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving is his son, Bryan Gossett and wife Sandy (whom he looked at as a daughter) of Chesnee; his grandson, Carson Gossett, AKA “His Little Buddy” who he enjoyed, watching play ball, their sleepovers and all-around spending time with; his sisters, Janet Harris and husband Wink of Chesnee, Linda Burke and husband Alan of Chesnee; brother, Marshall Gossett of Chesnee and his beloved dog, Rhino.
He was very proud of Carson’s work on the field and in the classroom.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Ann Gossett.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2021 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary with Victoria Hutchins officiating and Rev. Shane Ezell in Spirit due to not being able to take part due to an illness.
Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic it is requested that masks and social distancing be practiced during the visitation and service.
The family is at the home of his son.
