Larry Eugene Evans Sr., 68, husband of 49 years to Joann Thornton Evans passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born December 27, 1953 in Cowpens, he was a son of the late Joe Eugene Evans and Elsie Maegeline Peahuff Evans. He was formerly employed as and Certified X-Ray Welder with Mid-South Mechanical in Greenville for 45 years, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cowpens, was an avid pet lover and fisherman, loved playing the guitar and singing. He was very humorous with a contagious laugh and a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons, Larry Eugene Evans Jr. of Gaffney, Trey Lucan Evans of Spartanburg; brother-in-law, Jimmie Thornton of Cowpens; special sisters-in-law, Gayle Ervin of Pacolet, Amelia Thornton of Cowpens; grandchildren, Madison Lee Evans of Boiling Springs, Spencer Chase Evans of Boiling Springs; niece, Grace Kimbrell Brock and a nephew William Kimbrell.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary.
