Judy S. Elder, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away January 10, 2025, at the Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Born on August 10, 1948, in Spartanburg, she lived a life filled with love, family, and kindness.
Judy was a dedicated mother to her children, Amy Biggerstaff, Jeffery Elder, and Jamie Elder. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother, cherishing the moments spent with her grandchildren: Zach Biggerstaff, Lauren Hall, Haley Biggerstaff, and Jaelyn Elder. Additionally, she leaves behind six great-grandchildren who brought her great joy and happiness.
Judy was a loving sister to her surviving siblings: Kathy Childers, Dedra Lee, Lisa Witzel, Jayne Tate, Tammy Gruber, and Candice Mabry. Her strength and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Seay and Joyce Petty Seay; her husband, James Arthur Elder; and her siblings Besty Seay, Brenda Bishop, and Todd Seay. She also mourns the loss of her grandson, Tyler Biggerstaff.
Judy's life will be celebrated with visitation at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Spartanburg on January 21, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. with Rev. Fred Quidley and Rev. Frank Walker officiating. She will be laid to rest at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery following the service.
Judy S. Elder leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will forever reside in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be remembered for her unwavering spirit and the joy she brought to those around her.
