John Michael Scales, 77, husband of Phyllis Scales went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center, Mary Black Campus.

Born February 24, 1945 in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late John (Mac) Scales and Pauline Scales. He was retired after 30 plus years with BASF Corporation, was a Mason of the 33^rd degree, served our country in the United States Army. He made Jesus his Lord and Savior on June 9, 2008 and was a member of Casey Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife is his daughter, Keleigh Lewis (Jerry); step-son, Jimmy Wilson; grandchildren, Taylor Stokely, Madison Farmer, Draven Wilson, Sorchia Wilson; great-grandchildren, Bentley Stokely, Luana Farmer (Due in October); sister, Paula Scales; brother, Robert Scales; special fur baby, Sophie; and special friends that he loved dearly, Randy and Martha Robbs and Gary and Delores Adkins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Larry Scales.

Graveside services will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2022 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Gary Adkins and Dr. Jerry C. White officiating.
