John Franklin Roddy, 87, widower of Shirley Allison Roddy passed away Monday, January 23, 2023 at Wesley Court Assisted Living.

Born December 24, 1935 in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Ralph Roddy Sr. and Daisy McCraw Roddy. He was a former Loom Technician for over 40 years with Beaumont and John H. Montgomery Mills. He was a National Guard veteran and a member of Piedmont Baptist Church.

Surviving is his son, Johnny Roddy and wife Christi of Boiling Springs; brothers, Ralph Roddy Jr of Chesnee, Glenn Roddy and wife Peggy of Chesnee; sister, Branda Blanton of Chesnee and two grandchildren, Tristan and Logan Roddy.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by siblings, Gene Roddy, Betty Roddy McAbee, Ozelle Stewart and Evelene Batchlor.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 12:45 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Piedmont Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Larry Fleming and Rev. Tommy Comer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
