John Russell “Bunny” Ramsey Sr., 81, husband of Judy Ramsey, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born May 5, 1943 in Cherokee County, he was a son of the late Howard Ramsey and Sarah Butler Ramsey. He was the founder of Ramsey Masonry, was a Shriner, member of the Chesnee Masonic Lodge #294 and was a member of State Line Baptist Church.  

Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Gregg Ramsey (Chasity), John R. Ramsey Jr. (Julie); daughter, Tina Ramsey Smith (Bucky); sisters, Margaret Anderson, Marion Wyatt, Nancy Jolly, Ann Atkins; grandchildren, Jessica Sherbert, Rusty Ramsey, Stephen Ramsey, Kelsie Ramsey, Jordan Ramsey, Austin Smith, Haley Smith, Colt Smith, Trenton Ramsey, Kaylee Ledbetter, Savannah Ledbetter, Emma Ledbetter and 7 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Barbara Allen Ramsey and a brother, Sonny Ramsey.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2024 at State Line Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Ron Culbertson officiating.
