John C. Emory Mayo, SC John Calvin Emory, 71, loving husband of 53 years to Cynthia Pierce Emory of 350 Emory Road died Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born December 14, 1945 in Cowpens, he was a son of the late Thad D. Emory and Irene Champion Emory. Mr. Emory was retired from Sew Eurodrive and was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Cowpens. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Michael Emory of Boiling Springs; daughters, Charlotte Emory, Victoria Emory and Sara Emory all of Mayo; brother, Donald Ray Emory of Chesnee; sisters, Kay Emory of Mayo, Nellie Emory of Greenwood, Betty Taylor of Spartanburg, Hazel Emory of Mayo; grandchildren, Jonathan Emory, Jordan Emory and Cameryn Emory.He was also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by several bothers and sisters. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Westside Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the church.
