Jo Anne “Mimi” Painter Moon Jones, 88, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born August 20, 1933 in Cherokee Springs, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. Painter and Zelia Mae Wolfe Painter Allen. She was a retired Textile worker and a member of Cherokee Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving is her son, Robert “Bob” Moon of Chesnee; grandchildren, Jeff Moon, Jamie Moon (Merrill), Dusty Moon and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Charles William “Bill” Moon and a grandson, James Robert “Jim” Moon, and husbands Jack E. Jones and James J. Moon Jr.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Cherokee Springs Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Belton Drake officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
