James Edward Griffin

James E. Griffin Chesnee, SC. James Edward Griffin, 77, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Valley Falls Terrace. Born September 16, 1940 in Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late Jones Griffin and Bertha Dillard Griffin. Mr. Griffin was a retired Weaver after 35 years with Spartan Mills, he was a lover of children and was of the Baptist faith. Those left to cherish his fond memories are his son, Tim Griffin and wife Deborah of Cornelia, GA; daughters, Lisa Jolley and husband Joe of Chesnee, Amber Burgess (Marcus) of Startex, Autumn Gossett (Chris) of Mayo; brother, Jerry “Bud” Griffin and wife Sandy; sisters, Pat Arrowwood, Brenda Johnson and husband Foist, Norma Stacey and husband David, Carolyn Coates, Patricia Robinson and husband Terry; 27grandchildren,great-grandchildren and a special friend, Pam Pearson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Linda Patterson and Betty Griffin. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2017 in the Chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary with Mr. William “Buddy” Nichols officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that memorials be made to the Activities Dept. at Valley Falls Terrace, 400 Locust Grove, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family would like to thank the staff at Valley Falls Terrace for all their love, care and compassion to Mr. Griffin. Family members are at their respective homes.
