Jackie Blackwell

Jackie Blackwell Chesnee, SC. Jacqueline “Jackie” Mellichamp Blackwell, 80, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born October 19, 1937 in Ft. Sheridan, Ill., she was a daughter of the late Paul Kenneth Mellichamp and Mattie Lou Blitch Mellichamp. She was a retired supervisor for Progress Lighting and a faithful member of Buck Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, James C. Blackwell and her great-grandson, Matthew Lankford, of the home. She is also survived by her children, Paula Haney, Stephanie Tumbleston, Jeff Blackwell, Beverly Brush, Scott Blackwell, Traci Robinson, their spouses and their children and her sister Sandra Mott. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son George William Tumbleston. The Blackwell family will greet relatives and friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2018 at Buck Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Scott Scrimpsher, Reverend Kenny McDowell, Reverend Barry Felton and Reverend Larry Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Children’s Department at Buck Creek Baptist Church, 506 Buck Creek Road, Chesnee, SC.
