Jack Crocker, 88, widower of Genevieve “Jennie” Lewis Crocker, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 24, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
Born February 2, 1935 in Cherokee Springs, he was a son of the late David Hayes Crocker and Mollie Cantrell Crocker. He retired after 35 years from Carolina Freight Carriers. His true passion was farming, raising cattle and baling hay. He was a commissioner at the Mayo Fire Department for 31 years. He loved God, his family, and a simple life. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mayo.
Surviving are his daughter, Jennifer Martin and husband Chris of Mayo; grandchildren, David Martin and wife Nancy of Mayo, Travis McSwain and wife Grace of Mayo; great-grandchildren, Jackson David Martin, Lauren Faith Martin, Hollis Walden McSwain, Della Grace McSwain and a sister-in-law, Joyce Coram. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Ann Bowen, Mazie Turner and Bobbie Chitwood and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Bill Crocker, DH Crocker, and John Alfred Crocker, sisters, Mary Blizzard and Priscilla Blake.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Mayo. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the church with Rev. Tyler Estes and Mr. David Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Mayo Fire Department.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Barry Foster for being such a special caregiver and friend to our loved one.
