Homer “Shorty” Wilburn Willis, 73 years, passed away at his home in Spartanburg on Wednesday, September 22, 2020, with his wife of 47 years, Linda Kate by his side. Homer was born on December 9, 1946, in Asheville, North Carolina, to Creed and Zannie Fannie Mae Church Willis. He has resided in the Spartanburg community the past 47 years where he was a self employed automotive mechanic.
Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Kate, son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Jamie Willis, James Willis, step-son, Billy Whitted all of Spartanburg, daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Bobby Wolack of Spartanburg, Angel and Mike Thomas of Asheville, and Linda and Jacob Beeson of San Antonio, Texas. He also leaves three sisters, Betty Jean Crews of Florida and Lilla Mae Park and Ruth Whitted both of Asheville.
Homer was the loving grandfather of 10 to Tyler Willis, Colby Willis, Chase Willis, Kayla Willis Kasey Wolack, Felicia Hanson, Andrea Thomas, Angela Thomas, Kai Beeson and Maddison Beeson. He also leaves 5 great grandchildren.
Homer was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Jean "Peanut" Willis as well as one brother and one sister.
A memorial service will be 11:00 am Saturday October 10, 2020 at United Baptist Church in Spartanburg,
