Hazel M. Hammett

Hazel Mills Yelton Hammett of 134 Colonial Drive went home to be with the Lord, Monday, March 27, 2017 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.
Born July 26, 1934 in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late Howard Mills and Pearlie Waddell Mills Toney. She was first married to the late Alvin Yelton and secondly to the late John Hammett Sr. She was a member of Arrowwood Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory is a daughter, Teresa Yelton Safferstein and husband Robert of Boiling Springs; daughter-in-law, Tara W. Yelton of Greenville; brothers, Jack Mills and wife Myrle, Wayne Mills, Roger Mills; step-son, Richard Hammett and wife Tommie; grandchildren, Caleb J. Yelton, D. Seth Yelton, Eric P. Yelton, Daisy Burke; step-grandchildren, Tate Flowers, Tayler Flowers, Tia Flowers, Matthew Hammett, Sarah Hammett, Robert Safferstein and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by two sons, Stevie Yelton, Jeff Yelton, a step-son John Hammett, Jr. and brothers, Johnny Mills and Bobby Mills.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Arrowwood Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
