Guy Edward Hutchins

Rev. Guy E. Hutchins Sr. Cowpens, SC Rev. Guy Edward Hutchins Sr. 92, widower of Erna Janette Price Hutchins formerly of Battleground Road, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 1, 2017. Born May 24, 1925 in Yadkin County, NC., he was a son of the late Louis Winfield Hutchins and Tenny Hennings Hutchins. Rev. Hutchins was a graduate of Gardner Webb University, Limestone College and Southeastern Theological Seminary. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and proudly served our country in the United States Army during WWII and was a retired teacher. Surviving are his son, Guy E. Hutchins Jr. and wife Vicki of Mooresboro, NC; daughter, Rhonda Gossett and husband Larry of Cowpens; grandchildren, Robert Hutchins, Jason Hutchins and wife Mindy, Bryan Gossett and wife Sandy; great-grandchildren, Brenna Hutchins, Aubrey Hutchins, Carson Gossett and extended family, Mitch and Maryann Layton, Dylan Layton, Austin Layton and Rodney and Susan Woods. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. A memorial service will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2017in the Chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary. The family will receive friends 11:00 until 12:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the mortuary.
