Gary Dewayne Phipps, 46 years,  passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 13, 2022, in Greenville. Gary was born on September 17, 1975, in Gaffney, South Carolina to the late Floyd Millard Phipps, Jr. of Surfside Beach and Donna Gail Smiley (Keith). Gary was a resident of Greenville, and had attended Spartanburg High School. 

Besides his mother and step-father, he is survived by two sons; Kody and Devin Phipps both of Spartanburg, sister; Angela Tomey of Gaffney, brothers; Floyd Phipps, III, of Gaffney and Randy Phipps (Kisha) of Spartanburg.

To honor his life, his organs were donated to help others.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Help for Our Elderly, Inc., 2375 East Main Street, Spartanburg, South Carolina, 29307.

The family invites friends for visitation on Friday, August 22, 2022, 1:30-200 PM in the chapel of Harris Nadeau Mortuary. A celebration of Gary's life will begin promptly at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Interment will be private.
