Frances Mae Frady Rider, 77, widow of Brady Neal Rider went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Terrabella of Spartanburg.

Born January 5, 1946 in Waynesville, NC., she was a daughter of the late Garland William Frady and Dorothy Jane Plemmons Frady. She was the manager of Crossroads Fabrics in Cherokee Springs for 25 years and the Transportation Director for Spartanburg School District 2 for 15 years. Frances was very hospitable always having room at her table for everyone. She was an excellent seamstress and organizer who loved her family and doted on her grandchildren. Her love of the Lord was evident in the way she treated others, the was she served in the church, and the care she gave to her home, work, and family.

Surviving are her children, Angie Pintoff (Darryl) of Chesnee; Christopher Rider (Jessica) of Roebuck; brother, William Dean Frady (Shirley) of Newton, NC.; son-in-law, Scott Green of Boiling Springs; sisters-in-law, Emaline Frady of Waynesville, NC, Edna Frady of Hudson, NC.; grandchildren, Justin Pintoff (Jessica) of Blacksburg, Jonathan Rider, Nicholas Rider, Laurie Rider all of Roebuck, Corie Ricker (Harley) of Cowpens, Austin Wylie of Boiling Springs; great-grandchildren, Cayden Pintoff, Maggie Pintoff both of Blacksburg and Sebastian Garrison of Cowpens.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Jennifer “Jinny” Green; sisters, Gladys Russell, Stella Sheehan, Donna Lee Frady, Inez Franklin; brothers, John Lee Frady, Charlie Frady, Clinton (Cat) Frady and Eugene Frady.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary with Dr. Gary J. Grogan and Rev. Ron Tosto officiating.

The family would like to say a special thank you to a special niece Donna Dunlin and great-nephew Shane Lawter for helping with their mother’s care.
