Vera Evelyn Thompson, lovingly known to all as Evelyn, widow of Everette Thompson, passed away the morning of June 13, 2023, in her Mayo home. Evelyn was born on March 25, 1935, in Spartanburg, to the late Brodus Garfield and Lelia Jane Walls Godfrey. She attended schools locally and was employed by Spartan Foods where she was a breakfast manager. She was also a member of Orchard Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters, Renee Thompson Crocker (Duck) of Chesnee, Jane Gee (Bill) of Stateline, sisters, Betty Lewis of Mayo and Louise Turner of Inman, 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchiIdren.

Per Evelyn's wishes there are to be no public services. She will be laid to rest a long side her husband at Springhill Memorial Gardens in Chesnee.
