Evelyn Ozell Slaughter

Evelyn Ozell Slaughter, born on August 10, 1933, in Fayetteville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on November 18,2024, at Mountainview Nursing Home in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She lived a life defined by hard work and dedication to her family throughout her career, Evelyn dedicated herself as a factory worker, contributing significantly to her community and providing for her loved ones. Her ethic and resilience were admired by those who knew her, and she was valued for her steadfast commitment to excellence in everything she undertook.

Evelyn was the cherished mother of Gary Earl Slaughter, Janet McDowell who carries forward her legacy of strength and determination. Her six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive her.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sidney Slaughter and parents, Alvie Fuller Howell and Beulah Lee Howell, whose guidance and love significantly shaped her life.

Evelyn will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege to know her. Her spirit and warmth will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will carry her memory with them as they navigate their lives. She leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and the importance of family, which will continue to inspire future generations.
