Edith Brown Stephens, 87, widow of J. Watson Stephens went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Valley Falls Terrace.
Born September 21, 1930 in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late Arthur C. Brown and Kathleen Wood Brown. Mrs. Stephens was retired from L.C.F Water District in Chesnee, a member of Cherokee Springs Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Cherokee Springs Fire Department.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Alice Easler and husband Tommy of Simpsonville, Paula Easler and husband Rick of Cherokee Springs; sister, Jean Page and husband Ned of Greenville; brothers, A.C. Brown of Boiling Springs, Bill Brown of Sumter, Ted Brown and wife Ruth of Columbus, NC.; grandchildren, Michelle Mabry and husband Robbie of Spartanburg, Billy Easler and wife Dawn of Simpsonville, Christi Peace and boyfriend Craig Watkins of Duncan; 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Ruby Davis, brother, Jimmy Brown and a very special sister-in-law, Bonnie Brown.
Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Cherokee Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Lark and Rev. Tommy Ramey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service at the church.
