Dennis Wayne Hughey, fondly known as Wayne, was born on July 4, 1962, in Cowpens, South Carolina. He passed away peacefully on October 4,2024, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of hard and dedication.

Wayne his career to the field of contracting, where he built not only projects but also lasting relationships with those he worked alongside. His commitment to his profession was evident in every endeavor he undertook, earning him respect within the community.

He was a proud alumnus of Chesnee High School, where he laid the foundation for his future accomplishments. Wayne's life, though filled with challenges, was highlighted by his love for his family and his connections to his hometown.

Wayne is survived by his loving mother, Barbara Bonner Blackwell; his daughters, Adair and Halie; his brothers, Reginald and Shane; and two adoring grandchildren. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be held dear forever.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Ray Hughey. Wayne's legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared with family and friends.

A visitation will be held in his honor on October 10, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Graham Chapel Wesleyan Church, located at 235 Graham Chapel Rd, Cowpens, SC, 29330. This gathering will offer an opportunity for loved ones to pay their respects and celebrate the life and contributions of a beloved father, son, brother, and friend.
