Mary Dell Thrift Blackwell, 81, widow of Glenn Blackwell went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum.
Born December 28, 1942 in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late Willard Thrift and Faye Gossett Holder. She was a former General Manager for McDonalds and was a long-time member of Orchard Street Baptist Church.
Surviving is her daughter Becky Bridges and husband Joe of Cowpens; son, Dwayne “Tinker” Blackwell and wife Cindy of Cowpens; brother, Alfred “Bud” Thrift of Cowpens; grandchildren, Jeff Bridges and wife Lindsey, Nicholas Bridges and wife Monica, Kaitlyn High and husband Zach, Kaleb Blackwell; great-grandchildren, Kylie Bridges, Jayden Bridges, Maci Bridges, Charlie McCoy, Kaylee Bridges, Kamren Bridges, Elizabeth High; special friend, Betsy Bridges and her beloved dog, Tucker.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary with Reverend Preston Edmonds officiating. Burial will follow in Cooley Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Upstate Community Hospice House, 260 Fairwinds Road, Landrum, SC 29356.
