David Alvin Sizemore, 61, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born January 6, 1962 in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late John Earl Sizemore Sr. and Clara Elizabeth Johnson Sizemore. He was employed at Adidas for 11 years, was a 1980 graduate of Boiling Springs High School, a 1982 graduate of Spartanburg Technical College, he was a member of the Cherokee Springs Fire Department and a lifelong member of Cherokee Springs Baptist Church. He was a train enthusiast and loved all things Boiling Springs High School.

Surviving is his brother, John Sizemore Jr. (Patricia Vanoverstraeten) of Inman; nephews, Rob Ritz (Kim) of Charleston, Jeremy Ritz (Brandy) of Inman, Eric Ritz (Sonia) of Inman, Amanda Wilson (Steve) of Inman, Daniel Sizemore (Shannon) of Greenville; several cousins, great-nieces and nephews and his bushy tailed Beagle Barney and Husky Joy.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Jane Ritz and a special aunt, Marjorie Wall.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Cherokee Springs Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Reverend Belton Drake officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cherokee Springs Baptist Church, Homeless Ministry, 2699 Chesnee Highway, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
