Daniel Yarborough Shelton, 79, husband of Brenda Joyce Battle, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021, in his Spartanburg home.

Daniel was born on August 25, 1941, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to the late Daniel Yarborough Shelton, SR. and Naomi Margarite Hill Shelton. At the age of 4 years, the family relocated to the State of California. However, for the past 5 years, Daniel and his wife called Spartanburg home. In his professional life he was involved with Johns-Hopkins University where he was a records keeper in the library. Daniel was also a proud United States Army Veteran having served 12 years back in the 1960 era through Vietnam.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 7 years, Brenda, two sons; Danny of Spartanburg and Tim Bandell of Asheville, daughters; Danielle Jackson and Nicole Mader both residing in Maryland, brothers; Mark of Oceanside, CA, and Teddy of Beaumont as well as four sisters; Delores, Janet, Stephanie and Pamela and his 8 grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 1:00 PM, in the chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary, with Chaplain Andrew of Spartanburg Regional Hospice officiating.
