Corporal Wesley Paul Martin, a respected veteran and family man, went home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2025, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born on December 17, 1946, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Wesley was a steadfast presence in his community and loved ones’ lives. He dedicated his life to service, notably fulfilling his duty in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War, where his courage and commitment shone brightly.

Wesley's professional journey included his role as the owner of M.J.M. Fibers, where he contributed significantly to the local economy and nurtured relationships with customers and employees alike. His work ethic was admired by many and reflected his dedication to providing for his family.

A loving husband to Marie Goode Martin, Wesley cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie, and their children: daughters Rhonda Jenkins and her husband Paul, Jeannine Lawter and husband David and sons Jeff Martin and his wife Rena, and Chris Martin. Wesley’s love extended to his grandchildren, including Josh, Jamie, Kyle, Brandon, Koby and Jakey, as well as his great-grandchildren, Brynlen, Jossie, Payton, Marrah, and Luke, all of whom he adored.

Wesley also leaves behind his sister, Glenda Neal, who will carry the memories of their shared experiences. His passing is felt by his entire family, who will remember his warmth, kindness, and especially his fondness for his dog, Dixon and grand-puppy Bella.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiley Martin and Daisy Blackwood Martin, along with sisters Hazel, Shirley, and Eturlia, and brothers Ray, Wayne and Glenn. Their spirits will embrace him as he joins them in peace.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at Harris - Nadeau Mortuary in Chesnee, South Carolina. A funeral service will follow starting at 1:00 PM, in the chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary with Rev. Jonathan Atkins and Rev. Belton Drake officiating, Burial with full military honors will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs.

Corporal Wesley Paul Martin will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched throughout his time on Earth. His legacy of love and service will forever be cherished and remembered.
