Cleo Heaton Helton, 83, widow of Otha Lee Helton, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Spartanburg Medical Center from complications from a fall.

Born March 9, 1941 in Marion, NC, she was the daughter of the late Albert Heaton and Fannie Calvert Heaton. She was the owner of Cleo’s Beauty Shop and a member of Brooklyn Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughters, Tina Scruggs of Chesnee, Gina Huntsinger of Chesnee; grandchildren, Kevin Turner reared in the home, David Scruggs of Boiling Springs, Danielle Scruggs of Travelers Rest; great-grandchildren, Drayton, Skye and Willow; cousins, Phyllis Mathias and Clayton and Norma Loving.  

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Alexis Shaynne Griffin and a brother Harold Heaton. 

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Brooklyn Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the church with Rev. Clay Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
