Claude Eugene “Gene” Henson, 81, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. 

Born August 24, 1943 in Cherokee County, SC., he was a son of the late Buford L. Henson and Ruby Genevieve Hames Henson. He was retired after 30 years with Reeves Brothers Mill and a member of Hicks Grove Baptist Church. 

Surviving is his sister, Barbara Gardner of Mooresboro, brother; DeWitt Henson (Barbara) of Cliffside; brother-in-law, Samuel Waters and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Betty Waters, Vickie McKinney, brothers; Bobby Joe Henson, Rondle Henson and Clyde Henson. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Hicks Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the church with Rev. Brian Cole and Rev. Ethan Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Raymond Byrd officiating.
