Chad "Tater" Medford, born on February 9, 1973, in Union, South Carolina, departed this life on October 19, 2024, in Boiling Springs, South Carolina, doing what he loved, riding his motorcycle. He leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and cherished friendships that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
A self-employed individual, Chad dedicated himself not only to his work but also to enjoying life to the fullest. He was a passionate motorcyclist and took great pleasure in riding his Harley Davidson, especially alongside his family and friends. It was during these ventures that he forged valued memories and lasting connections, embodying a spirit of adventure that many admired.
Chad is survived by his beloved wife, Charlene Broome Medford, who was his partner in life and love. He is also survived by his loving mother, Linda S. Massey, and his stepfather, Jeff Massey and his father, Roy Edwin Medford. Chad's spirit lives on through his son, Tyler Gage Medford. He is also survived by his brother, Chris Medford, as well as his step-siblings: Nick Massey and Jessica Avery and her husband, T.J. Chad's family includes his nieces Abbey and Anna Medford, Creighton Sparks; nephew Jaxson Medford, all of whom brought joy into his life.
Chad was preceded in death by his grandparents Roy Lee and Peninnah Smith; his in-laws, Danny and Gaye Broome; his grandfather Ratcliff Medford; and his grandmother Louise Fowler. Their influence played a significant role in shaping the wonderful individual he became, and their memory will live on through him.
Visitation will be held at Harris - Nadeau Mortuary in Chesnee, South Carolina, on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Following this, a Celebration of Life will take place at Moonlight Tavern in Valley Falls, South Carolina, on Saturday, November 9, 2024, starting at 2:00 P.M until. Family and friends are encouraged to gather and celebrate the vibrant life of Chad Medford, sharing stories, laughter, and the love he so abundantly gave.
