Brenda Arlene Carlton, 67, wife of Stephen Carlton passed away Monday, November 1, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center, Mary Black Campus.
Born October 3, 1954 in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late Wallace Champion and Naomi Hughey Champion. She attended Chesnee High School and was a member of Graham Chapel Wesleyan Church.
Arlene was a Christian woman who loved Jesus and walked by faith. She got her joy from helping and pleasing other people. Arlene was a family woman who loved being with her family and looked forward to family gatherings and was very quiet but always carried a smile that would brighten your day. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would go above and beyond for them.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children, Roxana Burns (John) of Laurens, Juan Burns (Angel) of Inman, Stacy Norris (Warren) of Union, Chad Carlton (Sherry) of Spartanburg; sisters, Mary Collins (Charles) of Chester; brother-in law, George Greene of Chesnee; Step-sister-in-law, Shirley Wiley of Chesnee; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that were a big part of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sister Nadine Greene; brother, Lavon Champion; step-brothers and step-sisters-in-law, Harry Wiley, Bill Wiley (Dorothy), Gary Wiley and Joanne Rawls (David).
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary with Rev. Preston Edmonds officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
At the request of the family, social distancing and face mask are requested.
