Bobby Joe Humphries Sr. Mayo, SC. Bobby Joe Humphries Sr., 76, loving husband of Gail Watt Humphries of Mayo Road passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born December 16, 1941 in Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late J.B. Humphries and Essie Mae Blackwell Humphries, He was retired from Hoechst Celanese and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his wife are his daughters, Tina Byars and husband Timmy of Mayo, Mandy Oliver and husband Steven of Campobello; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Humphries of Mayo; sister-in-law, Verdie Humphries of Mayo; grandchildren, Carmen Burgess (Casey), Tiffany Westbrook (Jonathan Smith), Kari Smalley (Andrew), Stevie Oliver, Stefanie Oliver and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Bobby Joe “Joey” Humphries Jr., and a brother, Ryan Humphries. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2018 in the Chapel of Harris-Nadeau Mortuary with Rev. Glenn Rusher officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home.
