Beverly Jean Young (nee Simmons) of Gaffney South Carolina, formerly of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away on Monday, April 12th, 2021. She was a greatly beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt to many and will be greatly missed.

Beverly was an artist who loved to draw, paint, sew, and crochet. She enjoyed watching movies and television and was an avid reader. Formerly a nursing assistant, Beverly retired at the age seventy-five. She also loved baking, gifting family members with eight to twelve different kinds of cookies during the holiday season.

During her life, Beverly lived in a variety of places. She enjoyed each location and was excited and happy to start a new chapter in Gaffney. She was a kind and loving presence to all who met her and created a wonderful home no matter the location.

Beverly is preceded in death by her daughter, Dawn Reed, as well as her husband, James David Young I. Beverly and James married in 1956 and were married until his passing in 1998. Beverly proudly said that she was married for sixty-five years, including the time since his passing with the years they spent together prior.

Beverly is survived by two sisters and a brother. She is also survived by four children: James David Young II (wife, Linda), Candace Young, Sherii Thrift (husband Bobby), and Sabra Ellison (husband Lee). Beverly also leaves behind seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Finally, Beverly leaves behind her faithful puppy companion Jenny.

Services will be held in honor of Beverly at Magnolia Park Cemetery at 205 S. Pleasant Hill Road, Warner Robins Ga, 31088. Beverly loved flowers -- in lieu of attending services, friends and family may send flowers to her plot at Magnolia Park. She will be interred beside her husband on Saturday, April 17th, 2021 at two in the afternoon.
