Betty Jean Parris, 80, widow of Donnie Parris, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born October 11, 1942 in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Skipper and Sally Buff Skipper. She was a former textiles and CNA worker and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are her daughters, Libby Gardner (Mitchell) of Mooresboro, N.C., Tonya Parris of Spartanburg; sons. Teddy Arledge (Misty) of Boiling Springs, Eddie Arledge of Spartanburg; brother, Toy Skipper of Chesnee; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by numerous brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2022 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary. Graveside services will follow at 4:00 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2023 at Hicks Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Ethan Gardner officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 686 Jeff Davis Drive Spartanburg, SC 29303.
