Betty Batton

Chesnee, South Carolina

Betty Jean Batton, 70 years, passed away in her Chesnee home  during the early hours of Wednesday, June 14, 2023. She was born in Lumberton, North Carolina, to the late Adam Alexander Bingham and Esta Elizabeth Bingham. She was educated in the local area and in her working years was a cashier for Hot Spot.

Survivors include a son, Robert Batton of West Virginia, daughters, Terry Wyatt of Spartanburg, Emily Evins (Leroy) of Chesnee, Ashley Gante-Espinoza (Alberto) of Cowpens, brothers, Roy Meadows and Bobby Powell both of Chesnee a sister, Carol Bingham of Spartanburg, special grandson, Michael Murphy, 17 additional grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Lisa Murphy, this past January of 2023, and grandson, Jeremy Castro-Diaz in 2002.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, 11:00 – 12:00PM in the chapel of Harris Nadeau Mortuary. Services will follow beginning at 12:00 noon in the chapel with grandson Asencion and Lorenzo Ocampo-Rios officiating. Interment will be private.
