Althea Elwanda Tipton, 72, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum.

Born June 2, 1951 in Roan Mountain, TN., she was a daughter of the late Maynard Campbell and Martha Hopson Campbell. She was formerly employed with Hardee’s and a caretaker.

Surviving are her daughters, Amy Tipton (Matt) of Inman, Jodi Blanton (Keith) of Chesnee; son, Bart Tipton of Chesnee; sisters, Dimple Whitley, Gloria McAmis, Penny Campbell, Karen Hitechew; brothers, Steve Campbell, Lucky Campbell, Rudy Campbell; grandchildren, Brandon Tipton, Taylor Tipton, Lillie Blanton, Lorenzo Tipton, Bianca Tipton and Daisy Scruggs.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, Zachery Tipton; sisters, Rosie Thomas, Ellen Tipton and brothers, M.C. Campbell, Bruce Campbell and Michael Campbell.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Harris-Nadeau Mortuary.

The family will also receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Tetrick’s Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain TN., with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. A private burial will follow in Issac Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Faith Home.
